Renovation of a residential development in Franklin Township, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
As of May 16,2023, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established This project is for the stabilization and partial demolition of the Howe Farmstead Barn and includes but is not limited to the following major items of work: Repairs to barn foundations, including new concrete foundations in part. Replacement of the asphalt roof with new wood shingles and flashing. Roof framing repairs, sheathing replacement as required and related carpentry. New gutters and downspouts. Repairs to historic clapboard siding, windows, and doors. Two openings will receive louvers for ventilation. Replacement of structural framing and floors where required. Replacement wood shall utilize salvaged timber and boards from the Hay Barn to the greatest extent possible. Careful dismantling and removal of the collapsed Hay Barn with salvage of wood and hardware in good condition. Bids shall be delivered in sealed envelopes and addressed to Melissa A. Kosensky, Purchasing Agent, County Administration Building, Purchasing - 3 rd Floor, 20 Grove Street, Somerville, New Jersey 08876, clearly marked on the outside with the contract name and number, bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside. We value the integrity of the procurement process, and in full transparency, the bid opening will be conducted via Live-Stream from the County Commissioner's Meeting Room. You can access the Live-Stream from the County's homepage at the prevailing date and time stated in this Notice to Bidders. During the bid opening process, the bidders will be announced as will bid amounts. A bid review providing unit prices will not take place at the openings. Instead, this information will be posted, as always to the Purchasing webpage once available. Bidder shall submit with the bid a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total price bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00, payable unconditionally to Somerset County Treasurer, along with a Certificate (Consent of Surety) with Power of Attorney for full amount of bid price from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and that said Surety will furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in amounts of 100% of successful bidder's contract. All Bid Addenda will be issued on the County website at www.co.somerset.nj.us, and processed in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-23(c)(2). All interested respondents should check the website from now through bid opening. It is the sole responsibility of the respondent to be knowledgeable of all addenda related to this procurement. Bidders shall comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq.
