This Request for Application (the "RFA") is for the pre-qualification of landscape and civil works contractors
to provide services for the City of Vancouver, as represented by its Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation
(the "Park Board"). Based upon the requirements of this RFA and the responses the City receives to this RFA,
the City will maintain a shortlist of qualified landscape and civil works contractors for three years from the date
of the Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”), a form of which can be found in Buyer Attachments. This will
allow the City to contact the shortlisted contractors (each a “Pre-qualified Contractor”) on an as/if/when needed
basis, in the form of a Request for Service (“RFS”) that will include a stipulated sum construction agreement,
anticipated in the form of a CCDC 2-2008, to be signed with the City. For a list of possible projects please see
"Representative Projects" in Buyer Attachments.
While those suppliers who are selected by the City to enter Agreements constitute the City’s preferred suppliers
for the type of services contemplated in this RFA, such suppliers will not have an exclusive supply relationship
with the City and the City may, from time to time or at any time, if the City determines it is in the best interests
of the City, commence one or more procurements to procure services that are similar or the same as the services
contemplated in this RFA. The City is interested in reviewing applications from applicants with the following experience and
qualifications:
-Proven experience in mobilization, hoarding and protection of existing horticulture;
-Demolition, excavation and earthworks and to improve or modify landscapes;
-Drainage, sanitary and sewer works to municipal and provincial standards, including green infrastructure
initiatives;
-Hardscape installation, including civil works (asphalt, concrete, rubber, granular paving);
-Softscape installation including soil amendments, trees, shrubs, naturalized areas, and natural lawn;
-Rehabilitation of pedestrian and vehicle bridges, and marine structures;
-Installation of play equipment, including water parks, site furnishings, including standard and custom produced
furnishings; and
-Any items or areas that are proposed in Part B - Scope of Work (Expected Services). Question Submission Close Date
