Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.

As of June 6, 2023, the project has been awarded. A timeline for construction has not been confirmed. Furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to construct the project, including approximately 9,400 linear feet of 16" diameter water main by open cut and trenchless methods, fire hydrants and valves, surface restoration, and miscellaneous associated work. Work on the improvement shall be commenced upon approval of the contract by the Board of Trustees. The Contractor shall fully complete the project by May 24, 2024. Final completion generally includes full restoration and seeding of the site and all other items not related to construction and operation of the water main. Substantial Completion shall be reached by October 31, 2023. Substantial Completion shall include the full installation, backfill, testing, and connections of the proposed water main and service connections to the extent it has been deemed operational. Liquidated damages in the amount of Seven Hundred Fifty dollars ($750.00) per calendar day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. Preference of Products and Labor. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes Est. Value:$ 2,863,933.60 Payment will be made to the contractor based on monthly estimates in amounts equal to ninety-five (95) percent of the contract value of the work completed during the preceding calendar month, and will be based upon an estimate prepared by the contractor on the first Monday of the month, subject to the approval of the Engineer. Any such payment by the Water Works shall in no way be construed as an act of acceptance for any part of the work partially or totally completed. Final payment by the Water Works will be made in accordance with Iowa Statutes and the contract documents. *Information regarding subcontractor bidding has not been disclosed to the content management team at this time.
