This project involves removing the existing field turf and replacing it with new. The full scope of the Project and the work to be performed by Contractor is set forth in the Plans and Specifications prepared by the Engineer which are a part of the Contract Documents, including more detailed descriptions of the materials and equipment to be installed. The Contract Specifications are supplemented by the Project Plans and Specifications prepared by the Engineer. In general, all materials and equipment to be furnished must be of good quality, new and unused, and shall be constructed and installed as required in the Plans and Specifications and shall be of the types of equipment and material as specified. Materials of equal or better quality by another manufacturer may be acceptable but only if submitted as a permitted alternate and approved by the District. It is hereby understood and mutually agreed, by and between the Contractor and the District, that the date of beginning, rate of progress, and the time for completion of the work to be done Page 13 of 37 hereunder are ESSENTIAL CONDITIONS of this Contract; and it is further mutually understood and agreed that the work embraced in this Contractshall be commenced on a date to be specified in the Specifications. A certified check or cashier's check payable to the Board of Education or satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid shall be submitted with each bid.
