New Castle County is seeking proposals for an annual contract for various plumbing supplies, as defined below. The County makes no guarantee as to any dollar value to be purchased. Supplies shall include, but not be limited to: Fittings - copper, brass, PVC, etc. Tubing - copper, PVC, etc. Pipe - copper, PVC, Ductile Iron, etc. All materials shall conform to ASTM standards as approved by BOCA code. Acceptable manufacturers of PVC pipe and fittings include John Mansville, Certaineed, Carlon, and Harco (or New Castle County approved equal.) If quoting an equal, vendor shall provide samples, upon request, at no charge to New Castle County prior to the award. PVC pipe for non-pressure drainage of sewage and surface water, shall conform to ASTM designation D3033, Type PSP or D3034, Type PSM. The SDR number which expresses the ratio of pipe diameter to wall thickness is acceptable in SDR-26. PS-115 is equal to SDR-26. The pipe and fitting shall be made of PVC plastic. The joining systems shall be elastomeric gasket joints. For pipe 18" diameter and larger, ASTM F679 shall apply. For 4" PVC, pipe shall be Schedule 40. Various sizes of adapters shall be for connecting Schedule 40 to SDR 26 pipe. Ductile Iron Pipe for Gravity Flow Service shall conform to ANSI/ASTM A746 with Push-On Rubber Gasket Joints (Tyton Joint). Shielded Couplings shall be black rubber with 300 series stainless steel clamps and shear ring. Couplings should meet the requirements of ASTM D5926 and ASTM C1173. Joint lubricant shall be J-M Ring Tite (or New Castle County approved equal). Bidders are expected to bid a complete range of such items covering supplies for water, sewer, and gas systems.
