Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Diablo, California. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Assembly member Bauer-Kahan worked with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to allocate $238,000 for the engineering design work associated with the pathway project. This project will provide a new protected route for pedestrians and cyclists to use when traveling between Mount Diablo Boulevard and Stanley Boulevard / Deer Hill Road. The project will close a multi-use pathway gap between northeast, central and southern Lafayette by providing a continuous bikeway network via Pleasant Hill Road that connects to the East Bay Regional Park District's Lafayette- Moraga Regional Trail. The pathway will connect Acalanes High School, Lafayette Elementary School, Stanley Middle School, and Saint Mary's College via a continuous multi-use pathway. The pathway is designed to be constructed in the center of Pleasant Hill Road to eliminate the need for pedestrians and bicyclists to cross State Route 24 on-ramps and off-ramps. The pathway will be 14 feet wide and separated from vehicle traffic by vertical concrete barriers on either side. In locations where additional width is available, landscaping will be added between the pathway and the traffic barriers. In order to accommodate this design, the parking on Pleasant Hill Road between Mount Diablo Boulevard and Stanley Boulevard / Deer Hill Road will be eliminated. In addition, the existing dedicated northbound right turn at the Shell gas station from Pleasant Hill Road to Stanley Boulevard will be eliminated. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
