Site work and paving for a civil project in Kennedy Township, Pennsylvania. Working plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

As of June 2, 2023, Per Civil Engineer, all bids were rejected. No plans for immediate re-bid. Project is tabled for now. In general, the work on this project consists of the removal and replacement of a portion of two existing culverts and associated erosion control and site restoration. The project area is located within Kennedy Township, Allegheny County, PA. Contractor is to coordinate with the Engineer for actual field locations of all construction items. The Contractor shall be responsible for the proper disposal of excavated culvert, endwalls/headwalls, pavement, and landscaping associated with this project. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 5/3/2023 10:00 AM A. Contractor to provide maintenance and protection of traffic during extent of construction at project site, per PennDOT Publication 213. B. Install erosion and sediment controls as shown on the contract drawings. C. Remove, existing HDPE culvert, and furnish and install HDPE culvert and concrete headwall as shown on the contract drawings and as specified herein, including backfill material and appurtenances. Existing culvert to removed and new HDPE culvert to be installed in sections to minimize the amount of open trench present on-site. Contractor to provide Engineer with a schedule showing limits of open trenching for approval prior to construction. D. Install cofferdam and bypass pumping as shown on the contract drawings. E. Remove existing CMP/RCP culvert, and furnish and install HDPE culvert and concrete headwall and endwall as shown on the contract drawings and as specified herein, including backfill material and appurtenances. Existing culvert to removed and new HDPE culvert to be installed in sections to minimize the amount of open trench present on-site. Contractor toprovide Engineer with a schedule showing limits of open trenching for approval prior to construction. F. Restore asphalt pavement driveway to pre-existing conditions following related storm sewer improvements in accordance with the contract drawings and details. G. Provide related site restoration, including topsoil/seeding, tree replacement, and replacing guiderail, as shown on the drawings, and as specified herein. Remove and dispose all excess material and debris. All disturbed areas shall be restored or replaced to a condition at least equal to that existing prior to beginning of work. H. Provide as-built drawings showing all deviations from the original contract drawings. The Contractor shall be responsible for keeping the as-built up to date as the project progresses.
