The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will be soliciting bids for the Vasona Pedestrian Gates Project (Project). The SOQ package must be electronically submitted on or before Fifteen (15) days of the Bid Opening date. Therefore, the SOQ package is due July 25, 2023. Notice is hereby given that VTA is now soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from bidders (Bidders) with construction expertise in the installation of pedestrian gates, vehicular gates, signal improvements, civil improvements, fencing construction, minor electrical work, minor track construction, and signage/striping upgrades. This project will add swing gates, pedestrian gates, handrail, related signal upgrades, and minor civil improvements at various at-grade crossings, mostly along the Vasona Corridor. The project will impact the following intersections: 1. Campbell Ave & Railway Ave 2. Bascom Ave & Borello Dr 3. Stokes St & Southwest Expwy 4. Leigh Ave & Southwest Expwy 5. Fruitdale Ave & Southwest Expwy 6. Parkmoor Ave & Race St 7. Lincoln Ave 8. Auzerais Ave 9. Sunol St 10. Mountain View Light Rail Station 11. Dupont Street This Request for Pre-Qualification of Bidders is intended to solicit information in the form of a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire and qualification statements. All Bidders that intend to submit a bid for the Project must fully complete the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire, provide all materials requested herein, and be approved by VTA in order to be included on the final qualified Bidders list. No bid will be accepted from a Bidder that has failed to comply with these requirements. If two or more contractors submit a SOQ as part of a Joint Venture or expect to submit a SOQ as part of a Joint Venture, each entity within the Joint Venture must be separately pre-qualified. Answers to questions contained in the attached Pre-Qualification Questionnaire, information about current bonding capacity, notarized statement from surety, and the most recent reviewed or audited financial statements, with accompanying notes and supplemental information, are required. VTA will use these documents as the basis of rating contractors in respect to the Project size and scope. VTA reserves the right to check other sources available. VTAs decision will be based on objective evaluation criteria. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The estimated time for construction of the Project is 550 calendar days.
