Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Columbia, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.
City of Columbia, Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a contractor to remove and replace existing floor covering and base cove at the ARC. Corridor portion of install may be required to be a separate installation Pursuant to sections 290.210 to 290.340 RSMo, including the latest amendments thereto and unless the project is exempt from payment of prevailing wages pursuant to Section 290.230 RSMo, bidder shall provide pricing including prevailing wage for any project over seventy five thousand ($75,000.00) dollars, per the Missouri Division of Labor Standards Annual Wage Order No 30, attached as Attachment 2. Certified payroll shall be submitted to the City of Columbia, Purchasing Division every seven (7) days after the first submission. The City of Columbia reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received in response to this RFP, or to cancel the RFP if it is in the best interest of the City of Columbia to do so. Failure to furnish all information requested in this RFP may disqualify the proposal. Any exceptions to the requirements specified must be identified in the proposal. Offeror shall submit an original bid bond, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of offerors proposal, to the Purchasing Division, prior to the bid closing date and time. Acceptable forms of Bid Bonds include: 1.) an original bond on the City of Columbia's bid bond form (Exhibit H); 2.) A certified check made payable to the City of Columbia; or 3.) An electronic bid bond provided by Surety2000.com, as verified by an eleven-digit code which is generated by the Surety2000 system and provided by the contractor in their bid submission. Bid bonds, regardless of the format, shall be issued by a surety company authorized to conduct business in the State of Missouri, and carrying a rating of A-6 or better as listed in the A.M. Best or equivalent rating guide. The bid bond shall guarantee good faith on the part of the offeror to enter into contract within ninety (90) days at the price bid, if accepted by the City. Pursuant to Sections 22-71 and 22-72, "The contractor on a public improvement project costing more than fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) shall give to the City performance and payment bonds, with corporate surety, satisfactory to the purchasing agent, each in an amount not less than the contract price. Contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond, each for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, guaranteeing faithful compliance with all requirements of the contract documents and complete fulfillment of the contract, including payment of all labor, material, and other bills made in carrying out this contract." The Surety Company issuing the bonds must be authorized to conduct business in the State of Missouri, and carry a rating of A-6 or better as listed in the A.M. Best or equivalent rating guide. Performance, Labor and Materials bond shall be required from the contractor once upon award of the contract
