Renovation of an educational facility in Riviera Beach, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 85,600-square-foot educational facility.

The Roof Replacement Project for Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School includes the full replacement for approximately 85,600 SF, consisting of (2) buildings in northern Palm Beach County per design specifications and drawings dated January 24, 2023, (files attached). Scope includes but is not limited to: Remove existing single-ply roofing membrane including any "newer" repaired areas from top surface down to existing metal deck substrate to remain. Also remove all metal flashing, deck vents, and all related fasteners. Replace any deteriorated portions of the existing metal decking as required to receive new roofing assembly. See structural drawings for metal deck replacement specifications. Temporarily remove all roof mounted equipment and reinstall equipment over existing curbs. Raise top edge of all curbs as required to achieve a minimum curb height of twelve inches above the new finished roof surface. Install a soprema two-ply modified roofing membrane system with asphalt bitumen and modified bitumen granule cap sheet, coverboard, and insulation over existing metal deck as required per district master specification 07 52 00. Fabricate and install new 0.040" thick aluminum flashing, including but not limited to, copings at parapet walls, metal edges, and counter-flashings. provide fully soldered seams at all transition details including inside and outside corners, detail terminations, and intersections between different details. at all counter-flashings in stucco walls, remove 4" of stucco, install vertical flange of new counter-flashings on base of existing masonry wall. Install new wire lath and stucco over vertical flange, and repaint stucco to match existing adjacent surfaces. Replace undersized roof drains and/or scuppers with new sized units as indicated in roof storm drain schedule. Replace existing roof access ladder. Owner's Allowance ($20,000), available to Replace or Repair existing damaged items not directly associated with replacement of new roof membrane where required. Owner's Allowance ($50,000), available to Replace deteriorated portions of existing metal decking as required to receive new roofing assembly. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the amount of $23,850. The Guarantee shall be in the form of either a Bid Bond or Cashier's Check payable to The School District of Palm Beach County. All Bidders must be licensed pursuant to Chapter 489 Florida Statutes . The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond. No Bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing for receipt of Bids for a period of 60 days. The Board or its designee reserves the right to waive minor technicalities and irregularities in all Bids.
