During this first phase, contractors will be working under the bridge in order to do some necessary work to the piers. To safely complete this work, the boat access ramp beneath the College Street Pedestrian Bridge will be closed for several weeks. The pedestrian bridge itself will remain open during this phase, but will necessitate closure during future phases when deck timbers are replaced, wind bracing repaired, and when the structural steel is blast cleaned, primed, and painted. The College Street Pedestrian Bridge is located downtown in Riverfront Park and was completed in 1915. This historic truss bridge serves as a pedestrian bridge on the City’s greenways network. Additional notices will be provided as the rehabilitation process progresses. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The City of Bowling Green, KY is soliciting bids for the rehabilitation of the College Street Pedestrian Bridge as described in the bid documents and construction plans. The College Street Pedestrian Bridge is located downtown in Riverfront Park that provides pedestrian access across the Barren River. This historic truss bridge, completed in 1915, serves as a pedestrian only bridge on the City's greenways network. Recommended improvements and maintenance actions include pier cap repair, pier base encasement (one pier only), minor scour mitigation, upper bracing repair, minor decking repair (treated lumber board spot replacement), clean and spot paint critical connections beneath the bridge deck, and overall structure paint. The scope of this contract shall include, but is not limited to, all work as listed below described as General Conditions, EPSC, Excavation & Demolition, Storm Sewer, Concrete & Asphalt Pavement, Traffic Control, Pavement Markings, Street Signs, and Lighting. Contractors must submit the entire proposal when submitting their bid. Bidders and DBE subcontractors must be prequalified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and possess a Certificate of Eligibility at the time of the bid opening. All other subcontractors must be prequalified when accepting subcontracts. A bid bond of 5% must be submitted with bids. Additionally performance and payment bonds of 100% will be required. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal established for this project is 3%. Bidder must certify that it has secured participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE). This certification is reflected on the document, Certification of Bid Proposal/DBE. Please be advised of the following minimum prequalification requirement: I18B BRIDGE PAINTING.
