The project is expected to be awarded at their upcoming June 20 meeting.** As described in the bids are for a public works project which consists of traffic control, centerline-tie surveying and tie replacement if removed, tree root dig-outs, asphalt repairs, asphalt cold milling, hot mix asphalt paving, sewer and storm drain manhole-cover adjusting, water system valve-cover adjusting, clearing and grubbing for slurry seal, crack sealing, mechanically removing striping in slurry seal areas, protecting manhole, valve covers, or concrete areas from slurry seal, slurry seal Type II resurfacing, dust control, street sweeping, thermoplastic re-striping, reinstalling pavement markings, and related work. This project requires payment of State prevailing rates of wagesfor Los Angeles County. Prevailing Wage: Federal Labor Standards Provisions, including prevailing wage requirements of the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts will be enforced. In the event of a conflict between Federal and State wage rates, the higher of the two will prevail. Five percent (5%) will be deducted from each progress payment and retained by the City. The bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, made payable to the City of El Segundo for an amount no less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid for the base contract. The City of El Segundo reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity, and to take all bids under advisement for a period of ninety (90) calendar days.
