This document constitutes a Request for Proposals for a Professional Service Contract from qualified individuals and organizations to furnish those services as described herein for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Highways. The purpose of this project is to provide design services to improve safety and reduce congestion on I-265 from I-65 to US-31E. The purpose of the proposed 1-265 project is to improve safety and reduce congestion through operational and traffic capacity modifications in accordance with the findings of the 1-265 programming study completed in 2015. The need is expressed through high critical crash rate factors in the area, congested traffic conditions, and continued land development throughout the Louisville Metropolitan area.
