The Brunswick County Board of Education proposes to reconstruct the onsite parking lots and access drives at Leland Middle School, Bolivia Elementary School, Union Elementary School and West Brunswick High School. The work generally includes but is not limited to removal of the existing asphalt surface and stone subbase materials and replacing with a new stone subbase and asphalt surface. Also included will be seal coating, painting of parking stall lines, traffic lane lines, island lines and traffic flow arrows. Bidders must comply with the requirements of the State of North Carolina and be appropriately licensed as a Contractor as provided in General Statutes Chapter 87. Bidders are encouraged to only secure project bid documents as noted above. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any Addenda, obtained from any source other than Brunswick County Schools. Each Bidder shall be responsible for the review of all addenda for the project and shall acknowledge the addenda on the bid form. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive informalities, or to reject non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids. The Owner reserves the right to award a contract to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder or bidders, taking into consideration quality, performance, and time. ECS understands the project consists of evaluating the existing paved parking lot and providing recommendations for proposed repaving. Our exploration procedures are explained in greater detail in Appendix B, which includes the Reference Notes for Boring Logs. Our scope of work included performing nine (9) pavement cores and hand auger borings with Kessler Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) tests. Our approximate boring locations are shown on the Boring Location Diagram in Appendix A.
