**As of June 6, 2023, project was awarded, start date is Mid of July.** The City of Sumner reserves the right to waive informalities in the bidding, accept a bid proposal of the lowest responsible and responsive bidder (Successful Bidder), reject any or all Bids, republish the Call for Bids, revise or cancel the scope of work, or require the work to be done in another way if doing so is in the best interest of the City. All submitted bids shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit (certified or cashier's check or approved bond) payable to the City of Sumner in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposal price. Should the Successful Bidder fail to enter into a contract with the City and furnish a satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Sumner. The City of Sumner, as an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer, and in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally Assisted Programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award. The Successful Bidder will be required to conform to the wage requirements prescribed by the federal Davis-Bacon and Related Acts which requires that all laborers and mechanics employed by contractors and subcontractors performing on contracts funded in whole or in part by SRF appropriations in excess of $2,000 pay their laborers and mechanics not less than the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits, as determined by the Secretary of Labor, for corresponding classes of laborers and mechanics employed on similar projects in the area. Plans, Specifications, and addenda for this project may be viewed online at the MRSC Roster Bonfire electronic bidding portal at website. Free vendor registration is required to use this platform. It is the Bidder's responsibility to check for addenda and other new documents online. The public work for which bids are being accepted is described as follows: The current roof of City Hall and generator storage building is a composition shingle roof and will need to be removed and replaced. Some sections of the underlying plywood sheets may also need to be replaced depending on their conditions. City Hall is approximately 27,350 square feet. The tenant will occupy the site and existing building during construction. Work shall commence within ten (10) calendar days after execution of the contract and the issuance of a notice to proceed; and shall be completed within thirty (30) working days. The Engineer's estimate range for this project is between $350,000 and $400,000.
