Renovation of an educational facility in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Last day for questions before 5 pm: April 24, 2023 SCOPE OF WORK The intent of this project is to renovate and update classroom 108 in Mitchell Hall. Existing space is separated into two spaces by a moveable partition. This will be removed to create one space again. The SAT ceiling and light fixtures will be removed and replaced with new. Other work required in the project is as shown in the drawings. No HVAC work will be needed. Contractor is responsible for providing ground penetrating radar to avoid reinforcement and utilities in or under concrete slabs and like conditions. UNC requires advance notice for all Shutdowns. There are 2 types of hot work to consider; welding/ grinding and the other is hot electrical power access. 1. A hot work permit submittal is required for the welding/ grinding scope and EHS shall be notified of event. 2. No hot work electrical access permitted at UNC. Electrical Contractor must provide a minimum of 7 day notice of a power shutdown to be coordinated with the parties impacted by the disruption in service. 3. HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing Contractors must provide a minimum 7 day notice of a service shutdown to be coordinated with the parties impacted by the disruption in service. Contractor shall request all Utility locates thru 811 and UNC EDS services 919-962-8394 and provide CM and designer with receipts of completed survey prior to digging.
