Renovation of a detention facility in Salem, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

As of June 1, 2023, the county has awarded the project. The County reserves the right to cancel this IFB or reject any or all Bids, to waive any informalities in any Bid and to purchase any whole or part of the items and/ or services listed in the IFB. The Contractor shall comply with Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia, with respect to licensure of itself and all subcontractors employed to work on the project. The Contractor represents that it has verified that all subcontractors hold all required state and local licenses, including State Contractor's license and County business license. The Contractor shall verify that any additional subcontractors employed to work on the project, subsequent to the initial verification, hold all required state and local licenses, including State Contractor's license and County business license. The Contractor is required to submit the Contractor's Certification as to Licensure of Subcontractors Form to County. This constitutes a material part of the Contractor's Contract with the County. Question Deadline 05/12/2023 at 5:00 PM ET Bid(5%), Performance($100000), Payment($100000), Certified Check Provide and install a new 510kw Cummins diesel generator (or equivalent). The new generator will be the primary backup power source for the Jail in the event of power failure. The existing generator will become the secondary backup in the event of power failure and the new generator fails to operate. The new generator will be installed in the corner of the upper parking lot on the North East side near the existing fuel storage tank for the existing generator. The new generator will sit on top of its own fuel source. Refer to the AE drawings/specifications for required equipment and location of equipment. It is the bidding contractor's responsibility to strictly adhere to all TAS Design, Inc drawings and specifications dated 02/02/2023 Project Number: 2384. Bidding contractors must comply with all applicable state and local codes and standards with approval from A&E and AHJ. drago@roanokecountyva.gov
