Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Burlington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The Boone County Public Works Department requests bids from qualified vendors and contractors to provide services associated with Concrete Pavement Replacement for Fiscal Year 2024, beginning July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. Question Submission Deadline: May 3, 2023, 5:00pm The budge is roughly 1.2million Existing Pavement Removal and Replacement Additional Undercutting of Sub-grade Integral Concrete Curb (14" Curb) & Concrete Pavement Existing Curb and Gutter (30" width) Removal and Replacement Existing Sidewalk Removal and ADA Ramp Replacement(Detectable Warning Mat Provided by County) Existing Sidewalk Removal and Replacement Existing Pavement Removal and Replacement (per square yard) o Remove existing pavement that includes up to six inches (6") of sub-grade before an undercut cost shall occur. Bring sub-grade back with compacted DGA, furnish, place, finish, cure, protect and seal joints in concrete pavement. o When pavement is placed in front of driveways or entrances, one inch (1") of expansion material shall be placed and sealed between new and old concrete, unless otherwise specified. o Remove all debris, backfill and make complete restoration of area including seed, straw and netting. o Additional Undercutting of Sub-grade (per cubic yard) o All undercuts greater than six inches (6") shall be brought back to subgrade for concrete placement with Flowable Fill for Pipe Backfill (KYTC mix). o Undercut shall not exceed 24" in depth. o Existing Curb and/or Curb and Gutter Removal and Replacement (per linear foot) o Remove existing curb and/or curb and gutter, thirty inches (30") wide with six inch (6") sub-grade allowance as discussed above. Bring sub-grade back with DGA (compacted), furnish, place, finish, cure, protect and seal joints in pavement o When curb is installed in front of existing driveways or entrances, one inch (1") of expansion material shall be placed and sealed between new and old concrete. o Remove all debris, back fill and complete restoration of area including seed, straw and netting. o Existing Sidewalk Removal and ADA Ramp Replacement (per square yard) o Ramps shall be paid per square yard of four inch (4") concrete sidewalk and the unit price shall include all materials (except for ADA mats, which will be provided by the Boone County Public Works), forms, curb behind ramp and landing, and incidentals necessary for construction. o The ramp shall be constructed of Class "A" concrete. A broom finish or equal nonskid finish is required. Detectable warning shall be incidental to sidewalk construction. o The normal gutter line shall be maintained through the area of the ramp. Existing Sidewalk Removal and ADA Ramp Replacement (per square yard) cont'd o Ramps should be located within marked limits of crosswalks. oUse Ramp type 3 when point A to B is less than 20 feet. (per KYTC) oUse Ramp type 4 when point A to B is 20 feet or more. (per KYTC) o Curb return required when utility strip is 4 feet (4') or greater. For utility strips less than 4 feet, the area is to be surfaced with sidewalk within the ramp. o 1/2 " expansion joint at back of curb line and at sidewalk line. o No bump permitted. Same slope as ramp and not to exceed one inch (1") in height. Ramps shall be constructed so that water will not accumulate on walking surfaces. o All sidewalk ramps require detectable warnings. o Landings will provide a level area (less than 2% grade or cross slope) at approximate street elevation. A 4-foot (4') square level landing is the required minimum.
