Renovation of a municipal facility in South Daytona, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
As a Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) project, the contractor shall provide backup power to the Municipal Complex, located at 1672 South Ridgewood Avenue, South Daytona, Florida 32119. Coordinates: (29.181117, -81.008100). The HMGP project shall provide protection by purchasing and installing a permanent diesel generator with a capacity of 250 kW, or the adequate size determined by the vendor and/or an electrical engineer during the bid process to appropriately support the critical facility. The project includes constructing a concrete pad, installing an automatic transfer switch (ATS), and electrical connections. The Complex is made up of three (3) connected buildings (City Hall, Fire Department, and Police Department), which serve as the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), Public Information Office (PIO), and flood preparedness. Currently, there is a 100 kW generator that only covers the Fire Department and the Police Department, which has become inoperable due to its age. The project shall allow the city to maintain the Municipal Complex operational during future power outages.
