A pre-bid will not be held for this IFB. The Virginia Department of Transportation, herein referred to as "VDOT", is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide on-call, as-needed Shoulder Machining Services for the VDOT Lynchburg District Structure & Bridge division per the specifications of this solicitation. The contract period will from the date of award for one year plus four (4) one year renewal options. Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be addressed to Robert Dowdle at Robert.Dowdle@VDOT.virginia.gov. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. Provide questions no later than 5:00 PM five days prior to IFB close. The LOTS are as follows: LOT 1 - Appomattox Residency area to include the counties of Appomattox, Amherst, Campbell and Nelson LOT 2 - Farmville Residency area to include the counties of Charlotte, Cumberland, Buckingham and Prince Edward LOT 3 - Halifax Residency area to include the counties of Halifax and Pittsylvania The awarded Contractor(s) shall provide on-call, as-needed Non hard surface Shoulder Machining Services to promote positive drainage away from roadways at bridge structures. Each location will include short sections of roadway shoulder on the four corners of the bridge structure. Most sections will include guardrail. Depending upon structure location, completion of multiple structures per day is possible.
