General work description: The work to be done generally consists of rehabilitating 3 culverts by invert paving, spot repairs, and applying a geopolymer lining. Expect dewatering and pumping to be necessary. Comply with the permits, licenses, agreements, and certifications (PLACs) and the June 15 -August 21 in-creek work window. Tree trimming, and vegetation removal are required as well. Number of Working Days: 40 (Refer to Section 8-1.06 of these special provisions for additional conditions) This project is to be advertised pursuant to Public Contract Code 22037. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class _A_ or Class C-34 License at the time the Contract is awarded. The Contractor and all subcontractors are not qualified to bid on or be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of section 4104 of the California Public Contract Code, and shall not engage in the performance of any work under this contract, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to section 1725.5 of the California Labor Code. Bids and bid bonds shall be made on the Bid Proposal issued. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified cashier's check/s or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount, made payable to the order of "City of Orinda". Any bid received after the time specified in this Notice will be returned unopened. No oral, telegraphic, or facsimile bids or modifications will be accepted or considered. Bids must cover the entire project, including furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and services. Neither partial nor contingent bids will be considered. The successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. Liquidated damages for all work except plant establishment. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any portion of any bid and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. Bidder may not withdraw their bids after the bid opening. All bids will expire on the 36th day after bid opening unless the City extends the award period beyond the 36th day after the bid opening.
