Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Berkeley Township, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

Question Submission Deadline: May 3, 2023, 5:00pm Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and P.L. 1975 C. 127 (N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq.) regarding equal employment opportunities and with the requirements of P.L. 1977 C.33 regarding corporate and/or partnership ownership. Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the total bid shall be supplied in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond, but not in excess of $20,000.00. E-bonds through Surety2000 are also acceptable. See Vendor Questionnaire for additional information regarding e-bonds. Project to have a Liquidating Damage Clause of $500.00 per day after date of Contract completion. The right to reject any and all bids is reserved in accordance with applicable law. Summary The work on this project consists of complete demolition of various structures owned by the County of Ocean, located in Berkeley Township, New Jersey as detailed in the specifications. Project locations: 1. 12 Beach Avenue, Berkeley Township, NJ 2. 23 Dorrance Drive, Berkeley Township, NJ 12 BEACH AVENUE 1. Demolition of pile supported single-story residential structure, all timber foundation piles, in-ground pool, and all outbuildings. The contractor is advised that in 2022 a water pipe burst led to extensive water damage and mold growth on the interior ofthis property. Photographs in APPENDIX B were taken prior to this damage and are not indicative of the current condition. The Contractor shall include all costs for worker protection for any interior work in accordance with US EPA guidelines in the prices bid. 2. Testing was performed and no asbestos containing materials were found in and around the structures (see APPENDIX C). 3. Provide soil erosion and sediment control measures as indicated in the project documents to prevent contamination of surrounding areas (see APPENDIX F). The Ocean County Soil Conservation District (OCSCD) shall be notified 48 hours prior to land disturbance. Soil compaction testing shall be done prior to the placement of topsoil and shall be witnessed by an OCSCD inspector. 4. Perform decommissioning of existing active well by a New Jersey licensed well driller in accordance with N.J.A.C. 7:9D-3 well rules, including all documentation and coordination with NJDEP. 5. The Contractor is responsible for mark out and shut-off of all utilities for the property to be demolished, including water, sewer, gas, electric, and data. Cut and cap existing gas, sewer, and water pipes and clearly designate end of pipe. Coordinate electrical and data disconnect with the appropriate entities. The Contractor is responsible for all fees and coordination of utility notifications associated with utility shut-offs. Documentation regarding previously performed utility disconnections is included in APPENDIX E - UTILITY SHUT-OFF DOCUMENTATION 6. Remove and properly dispose of all remaining building materials within the project limits, including but not limited to concrete or masonry foundation walls and concrete slabs. 7. Completely remove in their entirety the timber foundation piles, 15 in total. 8. Completely remove the 13,000 gallon in-ground pool measuring 14 feet by 28 feet and 3 feet deep at the shallow end and 6 feet deep at the deep end. Remove all pool piping and equipment. Backfill the excavation with approved clean granular fill material. 9. Remove and dispose of all trees and vegetation as needed for complete demolition of the building. Trees not interfering with the building and pool footprint shall remain. 10. Remove and properly dispose of all driveways, walkways, equipment pads, landscaping gravel, or any other manmade structure on the property in question. Existing landscaping gravel may be re-used for on-site fill, provided its use conforms to the requirements set forth in the project documents. 11. Regrade area, using approved fill, to provide a smooth and consistent slope toward existing drainage areas/inlets. 12. Topsoil and seed finished grade at completion of work. 13. All work not specifically listed in a bid form pay item shall be incorporated into the lump sum/unit pay items listed. U23 DORRANCE DRIVE 1. Demolition of single-story residential structure with a crawl space, all foundations, and outbuildings. Photographs in APPENDIX B are included for reference but may not be indicative of the current condition. The Contractor shall include all costs for worker protection in the prices bid. 2.
