Site work and paving for a water / sewer project in Denver, Colorado. Completed plans call civil work for a water / sewer project.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS: MAY 18, 2023 by 1:00 p.m - Must send to DOTI.Procurement@denvergov.org. The Engineers Estimate for total bid amount (Supplemental Labor, Subcontracted Work, Allowance Accounts, and $9,100.00 Textura Fee) is $4,280,000.00 (contract amount is not guarantee of work). The contractor shall follow City specifications and standard details. The work includes any construction repairs on wastewater facilities (ponds, outfall, etc.), water quality facilities (ponds, outfalls, trash racks, etc.), and sewer (storm and sanitary conduits) components including, but not limited to: o Excavations o Plumbing o Trucking o Paving o Landscaping o Reinforced concrete structures, etc. o Lift station and pump station repair is also needed Participation - 9% MWBE Fictitious Scenario 1- Emergency Sanitary Sewer Repair: Overnight, a 6" deep sink hole has formed in a heavy traffic arterial roadway in Denver, CO due to the failure of an 8" sanitary line that is 15-deep. The area needs to be stabilized immediately and repaired within 12 hours. After further investigation, it is apparent that 100 LF of the 8" sanitary sewer line needs to be replaced, and the sanitary sewer line is leaking into the storm sewer and ultimately into a Waters of the US (South Platte River). The soils are in an area that is within a CCD delineated historic landfill area and so the soil could have asbestos containing materials and/or heavy metals. It is expected that the Contractor will work directly with the Denver Department of Health & Environment (DDPHE) to manage the sewage clean up and coordinate disposal of any excavated materials to Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site (DADS). The contractor shall respond within 1 hour of the City notifying the Contractor or Contractor's 24/7 hotline and shall mobilize within 12 hours to stabilize the site and perform the repair within a week after the CCD PM has agreed to the specific scope of work. Subcontractors and rentals can be utilized to supplement the Prime Contractor. Fictitious Scenario 2- Lift Station Failure: A sanitary lift station has failed. A major rain event is happening, a short circuit/electrical explosion that takes out the Motor Control Center. After some time, the large rain event floods the lift station and sewage is leaking from the lift station into a Waters of the US (South Platte River). The soils are in an area that is within a CCD delineated historic landfill area and so the soil could have asbestos containing materials, heavy metals or radium. The contractor is expected to provide a generator pump onsite to bypass the sanitary inflow from a large 60" gravity main. It is expected that the Contractor will work directly with the Denver Department of Health & Environment (DDPHE) to manage the sewage clean up and coordinate disposal of any excavated materials to Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site (DADS)
