Saving Project...

Site work and renovation of a swimming pool in Grants Pass, Oregon. Design plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool; and for site work for a swimming pool.

Caveman Pool is 68 years old and past its useful lifespan. A professional evaluation and report were conducted in FY'19 that identified the need for major repairs and renovation. In January 2021, council directed staff to work with the parks advisory committee (PAC) in developing a subcommittee to explore options and develop a long-term plan for renovation or replacement. the PAC recommended replacement of the pool. Once a plan is developed, staff will seek grant funding which requires matching funds. As of August 13, 2024, per owner, an architect has been selected. They are still in the first stage of design, with an unclear timeline moving forward. It is fully dependent on the direction of the City Council.
