Project No.1 Plan File No. 52-5-82 Liquidated Damages, per diem: $1,000 The residency requirement for this project is 40% of all hours worked on the project. The SBE requirement for this project is 5% of the contract base bid. The Contractor shall start construction by July 17, 2023. All work shall be completed by December 15, 2023. The primary purpose of this project is to rehabilitate private sanitary sewer laterals that are known to be contributing sanitary wastewater to the City's storm sewer system. The selected properties are located at various locations throughout the City of Milwaukee. Additionally, some homes have lead water services which will be replaced with new copper water services. The properties included in this project were identified through the City's Storm Sewer Outfall testing program. Participation by the residents to have their sanitary sewer lateral reconstructed is voluntary and residents may opt out at any time. Residents who choose to participate are required to sign a Right of Entry consent form. Copies of all Right of Entry consent forms are available for viewing upon request. Once construction begins, the City has the option of obtaining consent from additional property owners that have not consented prior to the awarding of this contract. However, all additional consenting property owners are required to sign a Right of Entry consent form. The Contractor shall not solicit additional participation from the residents. 1. Lead Service Line The lead service line must be replaced with a minimum size of 1" type K-copper piping to replace 5/8", 3/4" or existing 1" service lines, 1-1/2" type K-copper piping to replace existing 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" service lines, and 2" type K-copper piping to replace existing 2" service lines, using approved lead free flared and/or compression fittings. MWW will provide the following materials through the permit process: o Stainless Steel Service saddle (required when tapping an unwrapped water main) o Corporation stop o Curb stop o Access box o Copper disk (for abandonment of lead service) o Service Insulator All other materials required to complete the LSL replacement must be supplied by the contractor. 2. Sanitary Sewer Lateral The sanitary sewer lateral must be replaced with a 6" polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. PVC pipe installed between the sewer main connection and the foundation wall shall be SDR 35 PVC conforming to ASTM D3034 and shall have class "C" bedding. PVC pipe installed under the foundation wall, under the footings, and inside the house shall be Schedule 40 PVC.
