East Hartford Public Schools seeks to enter into a multi-year (3 years with 2 additional one-year extensions) indefinite quantity contract with qualified Commercial Painting Contractors to provide a variety of painting and finishing tasks on an as-needed/project by project basis. East Hartford Public Schools seeks to enter into multi-year (3 years with 2 additional one-year extensions) indefinite quantity contracts with qualified and licensed Plumbing Contractors to provide plumbing system repair, installation, modification and other associated tasks on an as-needed basis. Work will be performed on high-profile properties; therefore, contractors must be able to perform their services in a neat, clean, professional manner. High quality and attention to detail are required. Any addendums, if necessary, will be published on the East Hartford Public Schools website by May, 11, 2023. Question Deadline 05/09/2023 at 3:00 PM ET Required Services Contractors must be capable of and experienced in performing the following services: o All general plumbing and piping tasks including: installation, repair, replacement, alteration or maintenance of gas, water, and associated fixtures and fittings, tubing and piping of mains and branch lines in a COMMERCIAL building. o Large diameter (up to 6") piping installation, repair and modification for gas, water supply, soil pipes, and drainage piping, of a variety of material types. o Installation, repair, replacement, alteration or maintenance of sewer and stormwater laterals from buildings to the utility mains Required Services (cont'd) o Drain clearing, including sewer mains. o Testing, repair, and installation of backflow prevention devices. o Repair, replacement, and installation of pumps of various sizes and configurations. o Installation of pipe insulation. o Troubleshooting, repair, and installation of drinking fountains. o 24/7 emergency service. Contractor must be able to respond within 2 hours of service call. Proposals Contractors must provide the following in their responses to this RFP: 1. General information and company history. 2. Two (2) sets of RFP Packet (1 original, 1 unbound/unstapled) Other Considerations o Contractor must maintain principal place of business within 30 miles of the East Hartford Public Schools Department of Facilities Building at 734 Tolland Street, East Hartford, CT. o Contractor must possess and maintain a Connecticut P-1 Unlimited Plumbing Contractor. o All work is to be performed by licensed plumbers, except apprentice labor may be used only if approved by EHPS on a project by-project- basis. Each apprentice shall be supervised at all times by a P-2 or P-1 Licensed Plumber- no more than a 1:1 ratio. o Contractor must provide all tools, materials and equipment required to complete all tasks, unless certain materials are agreed to be provided by EHPS. o EHPS desires to limit the amount of "hot work" conducted in its facilities. Therefore, contractors must possess and utilize a "pro-press" or similar system for piping projects.
