Renovation of an educational facility in New Milford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Town seeks a qualified firm for a painting project . The bidder understands that, in addition to the bid specifications, all bids are subject to the terms, provisions and conditions of the New Milford "Municipal Purchases" Ordinance, set forth in Article III, Section 2-92 (a) through (o) inclusive, of the Code of New Milford. The contractor is responsible for all work associated with painting the New Milford High School gymnasiums ceiling. The work is to be scheduled for the summer of 2023 and to be coordinated with the School's Facilities Department. All work shall be scheduled to be conducted between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily. The contractor is responsible for set up, beak down and clean up after the project. The contractor will be responsible for protecting all banners, flags, walls , doors and the floor in the gymnasiums. All contractor employees will be required to have a background check per the New Milford, Board of Education requirements. The contractor and their employees shall enter through the designated doors and remain in the gymnasiums area and not walk through the other portions of the school. All communication for the project shall be directed to the Director of Public Works or the School Facilities Manager. 1. Protect all surfaces in the gymnasium; 2. Lay 3/4" plywood over suspended floor in each gymnasium; 3. Scrape all loose paint on ceiling, structural steel and HVAC ductwork in each gymnasium; 4. Prepare all surfaces to receive new paint in each gymnasium; 5. Paint all ceilings, structural steel and HVAC ductwork in each gymnasium; 6. Provide all man-lifts as necessary; 7. Ceilings to be painted using Con-Lux Coatings, Inc. Alkyd System, eggshell finish equivalent. First coat to be Bond-Plex 46 Barrier Green, 1.0 - 1.5 mils d.f.t., Finish to be one coat Alkyd eggshell enamel, Luster-Lite 2900 series, 1.5 mils.d.f.t.; 8. Structural Steel to be painted using Con-Lux Coatings, Inc Alkyd System, eggshell finish equivalent. First coat to be Rust Arrestor Primers, 2-3 mils d.f.t., Finish to be one coat Alkyd eggshell enamel, Luster-Lite 2900 Series, 1.5 mils d.f.t.; 9. Ductwork to be painted using Con-Lux Coatings, Inc. Alkyd System, eggshell finish equivalent. First coat to be Bond-Plex 46 Barrier Green, 1.0 - 1.5 mils d.f.t., Finish to be one coat Alkyd eggshell enamel, Luster-Lite 2900 series, 1.5 mils.d.f.t. The Purchasing Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids. In addition to the bid specifications, all bids are subject to the terms, provisions and conditions of the New Milford "Municipal Purchases" Ordinance, set forth in Article III, Section 2-92 (a) through (o) inclusive, of the Code of New Milford. By bidding on the proposed purchase, the bidder agrees to such terms, provisions and conditions. Any bidder found by the Purchasing Authority to be delinquent in the payment of taxes and/or sewer use charges due to the Town of New Milford shall be subject to the provisions of Section 2-92 (e) of the Code of New Milford. Copies of the Bid Ordinance may be obtained at the Office of the Town Clerk, Town Hall. An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. The New Milford High School was constructed over 20 years ago. The school's two gymnasiums have not been repainted since the original construction. Presently, the ceilings, structural steel and ductwork in each gymnasium are showing their age and the paint is beginning to peel and fall to the floor. The Town and BOE are requesting bids to clean, remove loose paint and paint the ceiling, ductwork and structural steel this summer. Once the painting is complete the plan is to refinish the floors in each gymnasium. The Town of New Milford is soliciting competitive bids from qualified firms for painting services. The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids in part or in whole. This contract is subject to state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. The Municipality reserves its right to consider informal any bid not prepared and submitted in accordance with the provisions hereof and may waive any informalities or reject any and all bids. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of bids or the authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered or accepted through ProcureNow. No bidder may withdraw a bid within 45 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Municipality may accept or reject any or all bids or any portions thereof and take any action deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. Bids must be submitted electronically. All blank spaces for bid prices must be filled in, through the system. Please include the section title for each question, if applicable, in order to ensure that questions asked are responded to correctly. Bidders must clearly understand that the only official answer or position of the Town shall be the one stated in writing and posted in the Town's procurement portal. All questions submitted and answers provided shall be electronically distributed to bidders Bidders must have a minimum of five (5) years experience with similar projects. In determining the qualification of a Bidder, the Town may consider the record and the performance of any contracts for similar work, which may have been previously performed. The Town shall make such investigation as deemed necessary to determine the ability of the Bidder to perform the work. The bidder shall furnish to the Municipality all information and data for this purpose as the Municipality may request. Conditional bids will not be accepted. The Bidder shall complete the attached "Statement of Contractor's Qualifications". Bids may be withdrawn through the Town's Procurement Portal, the responding firm may "unsubmit" their proposal. After withdrawing a previously submitted proposal, the responding firm may submit another proposal at any time up to the deadline for submitting proposals by written request prior to the bid opening. The Bid Guaranty of any Bidder withdrawing their Bid in accordance with the foregoing conditions will be returned promptly. Question Deadline 05/30/2023 at 8:00 AM ET
