The work to be performed under this Contract shall include the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment required to replace sewer laterals and construct spot repairs on sewer mains. Work includes but is not limited to mobilization and demobilization, traffic control, locating/potholing, protecting existing utilities, preliminary cleaning and TV video as needed, excavating, dewatering as needed, demolition, bursting existing pipe, installing new pipe and making all associated connections, raise and lower manhole to grade, backfilling and compacting access pits/trenches, installation of temporary steel plates, temporary pavement and/or sidewalk patch, replace clean-out per City Standard Detail S-37, and all other work as specified in these Special Provisions and as directed by the Project Manager in the field. All bids shall be presented under sealed cover and shall be accompanied by cash, Cashiers or certified check or a bidder’s bond executed by a corporate surety insurer. The bidders guarantee shall be in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the Amount bid and made payable to the city of concord The Contractor may elect to receive 100% of payments due under the contract from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code and with applicable City regulations.
