Bids for this Contract shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid. All Bids shall be effective for sixty (60) calendar days. Work generally consists of 8764 square yards of double bituminous seal coal and 8764 square yards of fog seal. Liquid Fuels funds will be utilized for funding for a portion of this project, and all materials and work must conform to the most recent edition of PennDOT Publication 408 unless otherwise specified. Bidders are required to contact the Borough Office at 610-562-8030 to visit the project. Bidders are to be PennDOT prequalified in the work described. Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the Borough. Liquidated damages apply at the rate of $300 per calendar day. A performance bond or certified check in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder within 20 days after the contract is awarded. The Borough Council of Shoemakersville reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or portions thereof, and to accept any Bid, or portion of Bid, which in its judgement is in the best interest of the Borough.
