The scope of work and terms and conditions for any additional issues that arise related to this project will be negotiated. The awarded vendor shall provide, all labor, materials, equipment, and tools necessary to provide the following: The vendor shall install perimeter security fencing that is tall, heavy duty chain-link fence. The fencing shall be 12 feet high with angled barbed wire on both sides on the top. The fencing shall also be 8.5 gauge galvanized steel. The vendor shall install fencing along the perimeter away from the facility with an approximate length of 200 yards or 660 feet to connect the existing fencing. There shall be one (1) split gate whose length is a total of 13' wide by 12' and one (1) single pass-through gate that will be 3' wide by 7' high. Both gates are to use a master lock to secure. There is a total of 869 feet of existing fence that will need to have barbed wire added (97 post along the 869 feet). Please see the attached diagram. All measurements are approximate. Vendor will need to take accurate measurements Contractors may also submit proposals for alternate items/services they feel may benefit the SWVRJA. IV. Proposal Preparation and Submission Requirements A. General Instructions 1. All RFP proposals must be sealed and marked "Proposal for Correctional Fence Design and Installation: Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority - Duffield". 2. Please submit three (3) physical copies of your response along with two (2) electronic copies on a flash drive or CD/DVD. Any proprietary information should be clearly identified in the proposal. One of the electronic copies should have proprietary information redacted. The RFP cover sheet as well as all addenda acknowledgements should be completed, signed, and returned with the proposal Purpose The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to contract with a qualified Contractor to provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to install correctional fencing at the Duffield Regional Jail. II. Introduction/Background The Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority, hereafter referred to as SWVRJA, is an independent political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Authority was created by the jurisdictions of Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington and Wise Counties, the Cities of Norton and Bristol. SWVRJA employs 435 people.
