Calmar Collegiate School Trades Training Addition General The Workun Garrick Partnership, and Black Gold School Division is seeking proposals from invited General Contractors for construction services of a new Trades Training Building at Calmar Collegiate School in Calmar, Alberta. The facility will play a key role in helping Calmar Collegiate School students to learn various aspects of multiple building trades. The Workun Garrick Partnership will work with the School Division as its agent in the selection process. All decisions will be made by Black Gold Regional Division #18. The standalone building is approximately 735m² and features a new vestibule, classroom, washroom, office, mechanical space, and a large pre-engineered building for the facility’s training lab. The building will be located south of the existing school along 50th street in Calmar Alberta. The approximate construction budget for the building is ±$3 million. The project is intended to be tendered June 2024 with an anticipated construction start date of July 2024. The construction schedule is 13 months for a September 2025 substantial completion. The Workun Garrick Partnership will work with the School Division as its agent in the selection process. All decisions will be made by Black Gold School Division. The addition/renovation of the exisitng building is approximately ±300m² and features selective demolition of existing entrance vestibule and in existing administration suite to accommodate a new front entrance, curtain wall, vestibule capable of lockdown, and updated administration suite in Leduc, Alberta. The approximate construction budget for the addition/renovation is $700,000 Dollars. The project is intended to be tendered Start of July 2024 with an anticipated construction start date for August 2024. The construction schedule is 5 months for a December 2024 substantial completion.
