The Billerica Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from General Contractors for the Asphalt Shingle Roof Replacement in North Billerica, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Andrew M. Brockway & Associates. The Project consists of: Abatement and legal disposal by a MA licensed asbestos abatement contractor of an existing slate roofing system that includes asbestos containing materials. Replacement of slate roofing system with a new asphalt shingle roofing and underlayment system and related accessories. Removal and replacement of aluminum downspouts and gutters The work is estimated to cost $103,576 Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 Â44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 ÂÂ26 to 27H inclusive. For projects with an estimated construction cost of over $100,000, by DHCD contractual requirement, General Bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), according to Article 2.1 in Section 00.21.50 Instructions to Bidders, in the following category of work, Roofing. No Filed Sub Bids are required. Also, General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), formerly known as SOMWBA. The combined participation benchmark reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 13% of the final contract price including accepted alternates.
