Chatham County is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide fence installation and gate replacement and installation services at the Chevis Road Drop-Off Center in Savannah, Georgia. The bid consist in the installation of 550 feet of new galvanized chain link fence with barbed wire, the removal of the existing entrance gate, and the installation of a 25 feet wide new galvanized chain link double gate. Deadline to submit Questions May 19th 2023, 5:00 PM EDT Online Submission GATE REMOVAL AND FENCE/GATE INSTALLATION: a) Removal of existing double gate located at the entrance. b) Install one (1) twenty-five (25) feet wide double access gate constructed with heavy gauge posts, hinges and drop rod for weight. c) The frames for all gates shall be welded (no mechanical fasteners). d) Install approximately 550 feet of new nine (9) gauge eight (8) feet high galvanized chain link fence; to include post and hardware as needed. e) The fence and gate shall be constructed with middle rail throughout, bottom tension wire and three (3) strand barbed wire arms installed along the top to deter unauthorized entry. f) All posts, line posts and top rails shall be schedule 40. The posts shall be on eight (8) feet centers and be set in eight (8) inch holes with concrete to a minimum depth of two (2) feet deep for a finished height of eight (8) feet posts. g) Field markers will be placed onsite to show the approximate alignment, start and end of the proposed fence. h) Bid price shall include all labor and ancillary fence parts (such as but not limited to tension bars, clamps, ties, hog rings, etc.) needed to provide a finished turnkey product. i) The contractor shall perform any necessary site preparation as needed to complete the project.
