Demolition, site work and new construction of an educational facility in Seatac, Washington. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 129,000-square-foot educational facility; and for the construction of a 218,024-square-foot educational facility.
The project will demolish the existing 129,000 Square Foot (SF) Tyee High School and replace it with a new 218,024 SF educational facility serving grades 9-12, to include all classrooms, science labs, career technical education spaces, common spaces, gymnasium spaces, performing arts spaces, library, kitchen, administration and office spaces; as well as supporting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and spaces. Site work will include a new football field and track, courtyards and teaching spaces, roads, sidewalks,and parking spaces with a capacity of approximately 200 vehicles. Field lights are being considered for the football field as an alternate. An additional access will be constructed between the two existing access points to allow westbound exiting students/parents to by-pass the 46th Avenue S signal. Additionally, frontage improvements will be provided within the existing right-of-way as mutually agreed upon with the City of SeaTac.
