Brief Scope of Work The project includes the rehabilitation of the asphalt runway pavement and asphalt and concrete apron pavement, taxiway fillet widening and pavement rehabilitation of existing asphalt taxiway connectors, the removal and relocation of Taxiway C, improvements to the airfield lighting and signage system (along the taxiways), grading, drainage system improvements and temporary erosion control and pavement marking. A more detailed project description based on bidding schedules includes: 1. Runway Base Bid: This Base Bid consists of all construction items associated with the proposed 2" profile mill + 2" P-401 asphalt overlay of the runway, as well as the removal of existing connector, Taxiway C. Some construction items (not an inclusive list) include erosion and control measures installation, asphalt milling, minor earthwork, asphalt paving, temporary and permanent pavement markings, and minor electrical work. 2. Apron Base Bid: This Base Bid consists of all construction items associated with the P-401 asphalt and P-501 concrete pavements reconstruction of the apron. Some construction items (not an inclusive list) include erosion and control measures installation, asphalt and concrete pavements removal and reconstruction, minor earthwork, and temporary and permanent pavement markings. 3. Bid Additive #1 - New Taxiway C Connector: This Bid Additive consists of all construction items associated with the proposed Taxiway C connector. Some construction items (not an inclusive list) include erosion and control measures installation, earthwork, P-209 aggregate base course, P-401 asphalt paving, temporary and permanent pavement markings, storm drain pipe and inlets, and electrical work. 4. Bid Additive #2 - Connector Taxiways Fillet Widening: This Bid Additive consists of all construction items associated with the widening of the connector taxiways. As indicated on the plans, existing Taxiway E will not be improved. Some construction items (not an inclusive list) include erosion and control measures installation, earthwork, P-209 aggregate base course, existing asphalt pavement removal and milling, P-401 asphalt paving, temporary and permanent pavement markings, storm drain pipe and inlets, and electrical work. Due to the importance of all bidders having a clear understanding of the scope and requirements for this contract, it is highly recommended that bidders attend this meeting. Minutes of the Pre-Bid conference will be issued to all registered plan holders as an addendum, It is anticipated that the contract award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder if an award is made. Proposals submitted without the prescribed information may be rejected.
