Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Sioux City, Iowa. Completed plans call for paving for a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.

The project is located at the Sioux Gateway Airport, 2403 Aviation Boulevard and includes the construction of a new apron and taxi lane connector to serve the Northeast T-Hangar Development. The contractor will have the option of utilizing either Portland Cement Concrete Pavement or Bituminous Asphalt Pavement. This project will require coordination with the adjacent SUX Aviation Center Development Project and the Northeast T-Hangar Development Project. Bid Alternate 1 is for the apron work for the second hangar. The Notice of Public Hearing will be published in the Sioux City Journal on May 11, 2023. Work shall begin upon receipt of Notice to Proceed with an early start date of July 15, 2023. Work shall be completed within 70 calendar days with final completion no later than June 15, 2024. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, re-advertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. 3-19-0085-070-2023
