The University Health Network (UHN) Department of Supportive Care (DSC) is presently accepting proposals to refresh its existing strategic plan to ensure alignment with its programmatic efforts to achieve performance excellence in clinical practice, research, education and system operations. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals from experienced individuals, organizations or teams, acting as the Strategic Planning Consultant, to conduct a fair and extensive evaluation of the DSC's strategic plan based on criteria listed herein as well facilitate the development of the next strategic plan. The DSC is an interdisciplinary department that spans across all sites of the UHN, administered through the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre governance structure. The DSC consists of three divisions - Palliative Care, Psychosocial Oncology, and Cancer Rehabilitation & Survivorship. Together, they are dedicated to supporting patients and their families to have the highest quality of life possible, throughout and beyond the disease course. The DSC is a world-leading department with 160+ multidisciplinary staff who see approximately 21,000 unique patients every year across the three divisions - Palliative Care, Psychosocial Oncology and Cancer Rehab & Survivorship. In 2021-2022, the department provided just over 11,000 consults and almost 50,000 follow-up appointments. The DSC is dedicated to continually adapting and advancing the care and services it provides to patients at the UHN.
