The solicitation has been cancelled in its entirety. The purpose of this solicitation is to contract with qualified General Contractors (GC) whose main office (headquarters) where the GC's license is held is within 50 miles of the Orlando Sanford International. Airport, to provide various minor construction, renovation, repair, and alteration of structural and nonstructural projects with a value less than $300K each. A wide range of services by various specialized trades for diverse projects on an as- needed basis for construction renovation, repair, and alteration of structural and non-structural projects are being requested in this ITB. General Contractors shall be well versed in commercial renovations and repairs, including but not limited to metal stud framing, drywall installation and finishing, acoustical ceiling installation, interior and minor demolition, all facets of wood and masonry construction, concrete block construction, and associated concrete work, finish carpentry and cabinet work, re-builds, roof replacement/repairs, renovations/remodeling of existing buildings, construction/installation of prefabricated commercial buildings, HVAC, electrical, irrigation, and other trades work. The goal of this procurement is to establish a roster of qualified General Contractors that can quickly compete for small construction projects as they arise. All work will be awarded and released through individual Purchase Orders. The successful General Contractor shall be required to provide payment and performance bonds, each having a value equal to 100% of the Project prior to performing any work on the Contract. The bonds will represent the security furnished by the General Contractor and its Surety as a guarantee that General Contractor will perform all of its contractual obligations in accordance with the terms of the Contract Documents. The Performance Bond and Payment Bond forms are included in the Contract Draft documents. All bonding companies must be licensed to conduct business in the State of Florida and be included on the United States Department of Treasury's listing of Approved Sureties website. Such bonds shall remain in full force and effect until the completion of the specific awarded project is achieved and the Authority shall be able to draw upon such bond regardless of the amount paid by the Authority to the General Contractor, even if such amount exceeds the value of such bond. The bidder shall furnish a bid guarantee in the form of a firm commitment, e.g., bid bond supported by good and sufficient surety or sureties acceptable to the Authority, postal money order, certified check, cashier's check, or irrevocable letter of credit. The Authority will return bid guarantees, other than bid bonds, (1) to unsuccessful bidders as soon as practicable after the opening of bids, and (2) to the successful bidder upon execution of contractual documents and bonds as required by the bid as accepted.
