The board reserves the right to reject individual bids when in their determination, the bid received is not responsive pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A- 2 (y) and/or when the bidder is determined by the board not to be responsible—N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-2 (x). The Board of Education will only accept bid bonds from companies that are licensed and qualified to do business in the State of New Jersey. Such a list (Approved Surety Companies) may be available upon request to the State of New Jersey, Department of Banking and Insurance, P.O. Box 325, Trenton, New Jersey 08625. The board will not accept a bid with multiple bid numbers listed on the bid bond In accordance with the statute, contractors must be required to pay wages to laborers and mechanics at a rate not less than the prevailing wages specified in wage determination made by the Secretary of Labor. In addition, contractors must be required to pay wages not less than once a week. The non-Federal entity must place a copy of the current prevailing wage determination issued by the Department of Labor in each solicitation. The decision to award a contract or subcontract must be conditioned upon the acceptance of the wage determination. The non-Federal entity must report all suspected or reported violations to the Federal awarding agency This work includes, but is not limited to, preventative maintenance and/or equipment repair; on call services to extend the life of the equipment, minimize breakdowns, and improve the overall efficiency of the food services kitchen equipment while reducing operation costs for all South Brunswick Board of Education. The contractor shall also provide qualified personnel to install new food services kitchen equipment that may be purchased by SBSD. It is understood in the installation part of the contract that all contractors shall pay their workers, wages pursuant to the New Jersey Prevailing Wages Act, wherever applicable. On Call Maintenance—Breakdowns, Non-operational issues; Troubleshooting The contractor shall provide to SBSD on call maintenance services for SBSD for all issues concerning breakdown, non-operational or troubleshooting of food services kitchen equipment. The contractor shall repair said equipment at the SBSD site and ensure proper working order of the equipment. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier’s check or certified check made payable to the South Brunswick Board of Education, for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the total bid, however, not to exceed $20,000 When required, the successful bidder shall furnish a Performance, Payment and Completion Bond in a sum of at least one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount payable by the terms of this Contract. Such written guarantee shall be made payable to the South Brunswick Board of Education and shall be in the form required by Statute
