Site work for a civil project in Newnan, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The City of Newnan, Georgia is requesting proposals for rehabilitating one (1) 48" corrugated metal pipe (CMP) and two (2) 82" CMP pipes using a slip-lining method. All inquiries regarding this RFP Must be in writing via email and addressed to: Ray Norton: rnorton@newnanga.gov. No proposal will be received or accepted after the above specified date and time of the proposal opening. Proposals submitted after the designated date and time will be deemed invalid and returned unopened to the proponent. We appreciate your submittal and interest in assisting the City of Newnan with this endeavor. All bid bonds shall be written by a surety company with an A.M. Best rating of A- (Excellent) or better, and is listed on the U.S. Treasury Circular 570, and also which is licensed to do business in the State of Georgia. Said bond (policy) shall contractually require the surety and guarantor to submit to jurisdiction and venue in Coweta County, Georgia for resolution of any disputes. The successful Proposer will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond, labor and materials payment bond, and maintenance bond as provided herein. No Proposer may withdraw its proposal and must honor its proposal within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The project involves the rehabilitation of existing storm sewer pipes, one (1) approximately 75 linear feet (LF) 48-inch diameter corrugated metal pipe (CMP) crossing under Timber Mill and two (2) 82-inch CMP pipes 100 linear feet (each) crossing under East Broad Street in Newnan Ga. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials and any other miscellaneous items necessary for the project in accordance with the Scope of Services. The Contractor shall be responsible for all traffic control activities required during the performance of the Work. The Contractor shall submit a work sequence schedule to the City for review and approval no less than two weeks prior to beginning construction. Notification signage to be placed on each approach to the job site. Contractor shall provide all necessary traffic control devices, signage, and barricades as required by MUTCD standards. No full closure of East Broad Street will be permitted. All cost associated with traffic control shall be included in fee proposal. 2. The Contractor shall coordinate with local utility agencies to ensure protection of all utilities in the project area. 3. The Contractor shall provide and maintain equipment needed to bypass creek flows away from the project area, as needed, during the performance of the work. 4. Contractor shall provide erosion and sediment control throughout the duration of the project in accordance with GSWCC BMP's. 5. Contractor shall limit clearing of vegetation in the project area to only those areas needed for access of equipment and materials and installation activities. 6. Contractor shall thoroughly clean the existing storm pipe of all dirt and debris and dispose of all waste materials off-site at a facility permitted to accept such materials. 7. Pipe shall be installed so as to maintain a constant downward grade throughout the storm drain from the upstream end to the downstream end. The new pipe shall be set flush with the exterior facing of each of the upstream and downstream headwalls. Provide jacks or similar spacers between the new and existing piping in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, as needed, to maintain pipe slope and to prevent floating of the pipe during installation of grout. Grout the annular space between the new and existing piping. Provide witness ports to ensure that the annular space is filled across the entire span of pipe. 8. Contractor shall grout the existing upstream and downstream headwall and apron to seal the pipe annular space and match the elevation of the new inlet invert elevation. 9. Contractor shall regrade and install riprap at the upstream and downstream ends, as needed, for stabilization of the channel bottom after installation of the new piping is completed. Riprap shall be installed to match the existing channel invert elevations.
