Renovation of a residential development in Glencoe, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.

This project has only one bidder. The Action 1 Construction, Inc. of Chicago, IL.for $32,000.00. Deadline for questions May 29, 2023 Using and following the village provided engineering specifications and drawing (Exhibit A), the Contractor will supply labor, and all temporary & permanent materials required to complete the project. The Contractor will be responsible for safely shoring the existing roof load as required during all phases of the project. The existing steel lintel will be removed, the door opening will be widened, and a new steel lintel will be installed. In addition, the contractor will remove the bollard at the existing west side of the door opening, install a new embedded bollard in a new location to protect the new widened wall, and complete repairs to the damaged CMU block on the East side of the opening. The Contractor will be required to follow all General Structural Notes and Guidelines as described in the project drawing. Note: Prior to the scheduled commencement of work by the Contractor, the Village will remove the exterior wall mounted electrical conduit above the door opening that will interfere with the masonry work. The following is a detailed "Scope of Work" list: 1. Temporary Shoring 2. Remove Existing Steel Lintel 3. Widen Door Opening & Repair CMU walls 4. Supply & Install new steel lintel 5. Remove Temporary Shoring 6. Complete Repairs to CMU Walls as necessary 7. Relocate one (1) Bollard 8. Post Construction Clean-up 1. Temporary Shoring The Contractor shall follow the engineering specifications and drawing provided regarding shoring. All required labor & materials for shoring, including proper shoring towers and shoring beams shall be provided by the Contractor and included in the overall contract price. The Contractor will be responsible for safely shoring the existing roof load as required during all phases of the project. (Upon completion of the installation of the new wider steel lintel, the Contractor will remove and haul away all temporary shoring materials.) 2. Remove Existing Steel Lintel. When temporary shoring has been completed and roof loads are secure, the Contractor will remove & haul away the existing steel lintel and any related debris. 3. Widen Door Opening & Repair CMU walls. With shoring in place, the Contractor will remove CMU block as detailed in the drawing to achieve the new opening width, and finish opening accordingly to prepare for new steel lintel. Existing foundation to be cut flush with driveway apron/garage floor as necessary. The Contractor will also repair the existing damaged CMU at the East side of the door opening. All broken CMU blocks at East door edge must be removed and replaced with new CMU block. Ensure all lintel bearings are sound and prepared for new steel lintel. All debris will be hauled away by Contractor. 4. Install New Steel Lintel. The Contractor will supply and install a new steel lintel per the specifications listed in the drawing (exhibit A) and provide proper bearing on altered CMU walls. 5. Remove Temporary Shoring When masonry alterations are complete and proper cure strength is achieved, the Contractor shall remove temporary shoring. 6. Complete repairs to CMU walls as necessary. The Contractor will complete the masonry work at any shoring voids. 7. Replace one bollard. The Contractor will remove the existing bollard at the previous West wall opening and install a new embedded bollard to protect the new west wall door opening. Confirm location with village representatives. Patch concrete apron as required. 8. Post Construction Clean-up. The Contractor will ensure all work areas are left broom clean, remove all project related debris from the job site, and haul away any leftover materials.
