Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 11,480-square-foot fitness / recreation center.

Seeking written quotations from qualified contractors for the procurement of the following services: Painting of Roche Community Center Gym Wall and Ceilings located at 1716 Centre St, Boston (West Roxbury), MA 02132. Total Walls and Ceilings including door and window frame surfaces to be covered with paint: 11,480 sq. ft. Duration 3 weeks Prep and paint all wall, ceiling, door frame and window frame surfaces in the Roche Center basketball gym. All surfaces combined measure roughly 11,480 sq. ft.. Gym floor must be completely covered at all times during the project with Ram Board (46 mil). Any damage to the gym floor during this project shall be the responsibility of the contractor including any and all cost of repairs. Walls and ceiling must be fully scraped, sanded, spot primed where needed and primed before painting. Walls and ceiling to get a minimum of 2 full coats and any additional coats or touch ups deemed necessary by BCYF staff. The job is not considered done until final approval of work by appropriate BCYF staff. Completely cover the gym floor with Ram Board (46 mil) and tape all seams together. Using a scissor lift or staging, scrape all peeling and loose paint from the ceiling, walls, window frames and door frames and doors throughout the entire gym. Sand all wall surfaces, window and door frames thoroughly to provide a rough surface for the primer coat to bond to. Lightly sand ceiling to ensure a smooth surface. Spot prime any bare areas of the ceiling and allow to dry. Apply two (2) full coats of ceiling paint to the ceiling. Using a masonry bonding primer, spot prime all areas of block wall that are down to the bare concrete and allow to dry. Apply a full coat of the same masonry bonding primer to all block wall surfaces throughout the gym and allow to dry. Apply two (2) full coats of Benjamin Moore Ultra Spec Masonry paint (elastomeric wall coating) color TBD. Apply two (2) coats of direct to metal paint, color TBD, to all window and door frames and door surfaces. Remove Ram Board and perform a full clean up of the work area including a wipe down of all surfaces and a full sweep of the gym floor.
