Site work, paving and renovation of a sidewalk / parking lot in Cumberland, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a sidewalk / parking lot; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

Scope of Work: The successful contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials and supplies required for the repair, repaving and resealing of approx. 44,775 sq. ft. of asphalt in the Parking Lots at Canal Place. Work is to include restriping parking spaces, installation of 3 speed bumps and replacement of existing concrete parking blocks with new. B. Description of Work: 1. Parking Lot A - Repair and Repave a. Contractor to remove and dispose of approximately 9,750 sq. ft. of existing asphalt. b. Repair existing potholes on the West side of the Parking Lot. 1) This is to be a full depth repair. Contractor to shore up sub-base with the addition of necessary stone and compaction to provide a solid sub-base for asphalting. 2) Stone - CR-6. 3) Compaction rate to follow industry standards and codes for the sub-base of asphalt Parking Lots. c. The full depth repaving will include a 2 1/2 inch base and a 1 1/2 inch top layer. Exact depths are dependent in achieving the full thickness of existing asphalt. 1) Asphalt work is to follow industry standards and codes. 2) Finished topcoat is to blend into existing asphalt to provide a smooth transition. Note - The attached drawing is for reference purposes only. It will be the Contractor's responsibility to verify all dimensions, locations, material quantities and site conditions prior to bidding. 2. Parking Lot B - Repave a. Contractor to remove and dispose of approximately 6,000 sq. ft. of existing asphalt. a. The full depth repaving will include a 2 1/2 inch base and a 1 1/2 inch top layer. Exact depths are dependent in achieving the full thickness of existing asphalt. 1) Asphalt work is to follow industry standards and codes. 2) Finished topcoat is to blend into existing asphalt to provide a smooth transition. 3. Parking Lot C - Reseal 4. Installation of Speed Bumps. a. Parking Lot A - approximately 65 l.f. b. Parking Lot C - two (2) speed bumps to be installed, each approximately 30 l.f. c. Speed bumps are to be asphalt and follow industry standards for height, width and installation and painted safety yellow. 5. Replace concrete parking blocks with new concrete parking blocks in Lots A and C. a. 5 inches high (maximum) by 6 foot wide. 6. Restripe all parking spots in all 3 lots to match existing. All work shall be accomplished within ninety (90) calendar days from the date designated by the notice to proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $250 per day apply to this contract.
