University of Quebec in Montreal hereinafter named the Owner, having its head office at 1430, rue Saint-Denis, H2X 3J8, Montreal, Quebec, is requesting tenders for the replacement of domestic water booster pumps and steel piping galvanized from the drinking water network of the Hubert-Aquin (A) and Judith-Jasmin (J) pavilions. The network currently serving pavilions A and J is divided into four sections, low pressure and high pressure for each of the two pavilions. The high-pressure networks are supplied by a triplex pump assembly, located in room A-S1860. The domestic water network, dating from the construction of the pavilions (1979), is now obsolete and needs to be upgraded. The work included in this mandate therefore consists of replacing the booster pumps as well as the galvanized steel piping of the drinking water network in pavilions A and J. The operation of the Judith-Jasmin and Hubert-Aquin pavilions must be kept functional throughout the duration of the work. The Contractor must consider that the users and occupants of the building will continue their activities during the work. The Contractor shall act in such a way as to minimize inconvenience to users and personnel. The Contractor shall ensure that users will have access to premises and facilities in a safe, healthy and seamless climate. The dismantling of the existing piping will require the removal of insulation components containing asbestos. Materials containing asbestos are mainly present on elbows and plumbing joints and can be removed using a moderate risk procedure (glove bag). Work in mechanical wells will be carried out according to confined space and work at height procedures (unless otherwise indicated on the plans). The Contract includes related architectural work including, but not limited to: demolition and reconstruction of gypsum ceilings or suspended ceilings, door replacement, new block partition, openings in walls, temporary access to mechanical wells, patching, ceramics, painting, etc., all according to the details given in the architectural documents. This includes all development work, demolition, protection, leveling and other work necessary for the complete completion of the Work and all related work such as: development and cleaning of the site, temporary protection work, repairs and modifications to the construction works. existing interior fittings. All jointing, repair and drilling work required for the work herein is included. The Contract also includes the recovery of certain existing equipment and its reinstallation. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
