Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Wayne City, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

This project requires 23% DBE participation, or if the contract goal is not met, documented evidence of good faith efforts. The Complexity Factor for this project is 0.035. The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on July 26, 2023, at 1:30 PM at the Region Four/District Seven Office in Effingham. The anticipated scope of work is complete removal and replacement of S.N. 096-0053 and 096- 0059 carrying I-64 over US 45. The profile grade of the I-64 bridges and approach roadways will be raised to increase the vertical clearance above US 45 from existing 14’-1” to proposed 16’-6” minimum. S.N. 096-0049 and S.N. 096-0050 carrying I-64 over the abandoned railroad 0.5 miles west of US 45 will be removed and filled-in with embankment and pavement. Phase I engineering services are required to provide a DTM and topographic survey of the existing bridges and approach roadways, bridge condition reports (BCR), structure reports, subsurface investigation, structure geotechnical reports (SGR), type size and location plans (TSL), and development of a Phase I project report. District Seven will be responsible for environmental coordination and utility coordination. Phase II engineering services are required to provide final documents for PSE submittal including final structure plans, final roadway plans, maintenance of traffic plans, estimate of time, and special provisions.
