As of April 8, 2024, construction is underway. The owner has selected a Construction Manager. Located within the region in close proximity to the Hyundai EV plant site, Ogeechee Technical College has developed and is currently delivering the Technical College System of Georgia's most comprehensive and progressive noncredit industrial systems and industrial robots training. In FY22, the College logged more than 104,000 hours in industrial systems and industrial robotics training, serving industry throughout its service delivery area, the surrounding region, and nationally as well. At its current rate of growth, the program is projected to meet its training capacity in the College's Industrial Technology Building in FY24. The proposed 37,300 square foot Georgia Industrial Systems and Industrial Robotics Training Center (GISIRTC) will triple the College's annual training capacity to 400,000 hours - meeting the region's projected training demand in FY25.
