Set against a scenic mountain backdrop, the City of Diamond Bar (City) was incorporated on April 18, 1989, on more than 8,000 acres of rolling hills and valleys in the East San Gabriel Valley region. The City operates under a Council/Manager form of government. The five City Council members are elected at large for four-year terms and serves as the legislative governing body. The Mayor is appointed annually by the City Council. The City is a predominantly middle to upper class community that is home to approximately 60,000 residents. The City is approximately 15 square miles in area and shares common boundaries with the cities of Industry, Pomona, Chino Hills and an unincorporated portion of the County.
