Renovation of a power facility in Columbia, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a power facility.

SCOPE OF WORK a. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment necessary for, and incidental to, construction of this project as indicated on Drawings and specified herein. b. Work shall include everything requisite and necessary to finish work properly, notwithstanding that every item of labor or materials or accessories required to make project complete may not be specifically mentioned. c. General Description of Work: (5) Demolition shall consist of: (a) Existing Turbine Generator 6, its condenser, and related equipment (b) Piping SC - 3 (c) Structural Steel (d) Concrete Pads (e) Miscellaneous electrical including existing lighting, out-of-service cables, raceway, and devices. (f) A hazardous material survey has been conducted in the project work area. Refer to the survey report provided as a reference document for findings. (g) Some asbestos containing material was discovered in the project area, however, it is not anticipated asbestos containing material will be disturbed during demolition or construction of this project. (h) Some RCRA metal containing materials (paint) were discovered. Some of these materials are expected to be removed for demolition and construction of this project. Refer to Division 02 for requirements. (i) Contractor shall protect equipment and operating facility during construction from weather. (6) Structural work shall consist of : (a) Existing turbine foundation modifications. (b) Equipment maintenance pads. (c) Operating floor framing modifications. (7) Electrical work shall consist of: (a) Installation of Generator 10 and related equipment (b) Existing electrical system modification. (c) Existing switchgear upgrade. (d) Installation of a new Motor Control Center. (e) Installation of a new Automatic Transfer Switch. (f) Support commissioning of electrical systems and equipment. (8) Instrumentation & Controls work shall consist of: (a) Furnish and install instruments as defined in the instrument list (b) Install and wire the Turbine Control System (c) Calibrate instruments SC - 4 (d) Support commissioning of control systems (9) Mechanical work shall consist of: (a) Installation of Turbine Generator 10 and related equipment (b) Procurement and installation of miscellaneous pumps (c) Piping (10) Major Equipment Rigging shall consist of: (a) Develop rigging plans for the installation of major components for review. (b) Develop shoring plans as required for the existing operating floor and exterior tunnels. Exhibit B includes a previous shoring plan for the tunnels located along fifth street. Contractor shall utilize this plan for locations of existing tunnels. (c) Rigging and shoring plans shall be submitted for review and approval prior to commencing work. 4. LOCATION a. Work shall be performed under this Contract on campus of the University of Missouri - Columbia, at the University Power Plant at the Northwest corner of Fifth street and Stewart street.
