Middle Ridge Road Rehabilitation Part 1 & Part 2 Sealed bids will be received by the City of Amherst (the City) at City Hall, 206 South Main Street, Amherst, Ohio 44001, and will be opened and read publicly immediately thereafter, for the following project:Middle Ridge Road Rehabilitation Part 1 & Part 2, OPWC Round 36 Amherst, Ohio In accordance with the Plans and Specifications prepared by Bramhall Engineering and Surveying Co. (the Engineer), the project consists of asphalt roadway resurfacing, full depth pavement repairs, casting adjustments, storm and sanitary repairs, culvert replacements, driveway repairs, guardrail replacement, maintenance of traffic and lawn restoration. Copies of the Plans and Contract Documents may be obtained from the office of Bramhall Engineering & Surveying Company at 801 Moore Road, Avon, Ohio 44011 beginning at 9:00AM on May 4th 2023 and during regular business hours. Cost of Plans and Contract Documents is $75. The deposit is non-refundable. An advisable pre-bid meeting will be held at Amherst City Hall on Tuesday May 16th, 2023 at 10am at 206 South Main Street, Amherst, Ohio 44001. Questions by prospective bidders concerning this project should be directed to Bramhall Engineering & Surveying Co., Mr. Aaron Appell, P.E., in writing, ataappell@bramhall-engineering.com Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code Bid Security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said Surety. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity Bids must be submitted on the Bid Form contained in the Contract Documents. If the City determines to award the contract, the City will award it based on the lowest and best bid as determined in the discretion of the City. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein. Prevailing Wage Rates are applicable to this project. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on public improvements in Lorain County and the City of Amherst, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Labor & Worker Safety, Wage and Hour Bureau, (614) 644-2239. The Owner requires that all paving activities be completed on or before October 6th 2023, and all other final work for the project, including punch list items, be completed on or before October 31st.
