The Village of Lakewood Invites Submission of Sealed Bids for Construction of a Project as Follows: Construction of a Stormwater Project - Including Site Clearing/grubbing, Access Trails, Engineered Wetlands, Swales, Plantings, Ecological Features, and Other Related Work as Shown in the Bid Plans on a Wooded Property Owned by the Village. Bids Shall Include Costs for Base Bid and Three Additive Items as Shown in Bidding Documents. Each Bid Must Be Accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Check in the Amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the Amount of the Bid, Duly Executed by the Bidder as Principal, and Having as Surety Thereon a Surety Company Approved by the Owner. A Performance Bond Equal to 100% of the Contract Sum is Required to Be Delivered at Time Contract is Signed With Owner. All Qualified Bidders, Including Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (Mwbe), Are Encouraged to Respond. Funding for This Project is Being Provided by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The Selected Contractor Must Comply With All Provisions in the Contract Between the Nysdec and the Village, Including the Mwbe Goals. The Overall Mwbe Participation Goal for This Project is 30%. Respondents Are Expected to Demonstrate How They Will Achieve This Goal. No Bidder May Withdraw Their Bid Within Forty-five (45) Days of the Date of the Bid Opening. The Village Reserves the Right to Waive Any Inconsistencies and to Reject Any or All Bids. The project is expected to start upon execution of the contract between the Village and Contractor and should be completed no later than December 31, 2023 barring extreme inclement weather conditions or acts of God as explained below. Contractor should plan for a small amount of touchup work in the spring of 2024 to address any minor settling or erosion areas and touch-up newly planted vegetation areas to ensure 90% survival.
